Is everyone else over the weather right now? Bring back the sunshine please, I can’t cope with this cold anymore! I am sure I should have been born nearer the equator…but since I wasn’t I need to suck it up as I have a pooch that needs walking everyday come hail or shine!
Thankfully I have been working with Blacks lately on a review of some pieces that are perfect for when I have to brave the rain and snow. To be honest I have never shopped at Blacks before now but it is definitely somewhere I would consider in the future rather than high street stores or my regular haunts. They had so many great pieces of practical wear and that is what I am seriously lacking in my wardrobe!
First up are the Brasher Country Master Brown Women’s Hiking Boots that I have mentioned before on my Instagram, I have worn these for walks in the wood, general trekking to and from the shops and also to the beach, they are an absolute lifesaver if you hate the feel of sand on your feet! I am generally a size 5 but ordered a 6 as I like to wear a thick pair of socks with boots. Fully waterproof and shock absorbing these are the creme de la creme of hiking boots, an award winning design that made Brasher, a British company, so famous. I can actually feel the ankle support when I wear these which is great as past experience of hiking boots has never been so comfortable.

When out and about I am always conscious of emails and what I might be missing or what images I can capture on my phone so having a pair of gloves that I can leave on while using my phone is simply goals! These North Face Womens Gloves are perfect for working outdoors, they have a silicone grip on the palm which makes holding your phone so easy and the X-Static fingertips mean I can use my phone or MP3 without freezing my fingers off! I was pleasantly surprised with how well they worked too, I have to admit I am usually furiously scrabbling with the phone trying to make the screen switch over or answer the phone without having to take off my normal gloves, from now on though I will be wearing these at every opportunity!

My final review piece were these Brasher Stretch Women’s Walking Trousers, I am normally a size 14 but ordered a size 16 so that I could comfortably move around. Poppy likes to go on mammoth walks so I didn’t want to be uncomfortable or have trousers that ride up half way through the trek, however they are still a little tight so I would most definitely size up when ordering these. With articulated knees for ease of movement and waterproof they are ideal for those awful days we are having lately where its splashing with rain one minute and ankle deep with snow the next!

I am a sucker for pockets and these have two at the front and a zipper one at the back too, meaning I could slip in my debit card and not have to worry about carrying a bag or it falling out of a side pocket, it was secure behind that zip!
XOXO
Debbie

I’ve been looking at hiking boots for when I’m out and about with the children. Wellies are fantastic but my toes get soooo cold. I’ll have to take a look on the Blacks site to see the full range
