I know its not good to admit these kind of things but I really do hate going to the park with the kids!
Don’t get me wrong, I would happily spend a solid 24 hours locked in a small room with no one but them for company so I know its not personal but put them out into open plains and I get a little jittery!
First there’s the car journey…
Are we there yet? (We aren’t even off the drive yet honey!)
I’m thirsty, can we open the packed lunch? (no you’ve literally just finished breakfast!)
Muuuuuuummmm I feel so sick can we put the windows down? (All the windows are down…and we are still on the drive!)
I need a wee!! ( You’ve just been and thankfully we are still on the drive!) and so it goes…
Once we arrive my panic switch gets flicked!
Watch when you open the car doors in case you hit the car next to us!
Don’t run around the car, stand still beside me, no I don’t care what other kids are doing…STAND STILL!
No you cant have an ice cream yet we just got here!
What do you mean your legs are hurting I’ve literally just lifted you out of the car?! Let me load all these bags on my shoulders and picked up your baby sister then maybe I can carry you too – yeah jump on why not!
*OMGoodness look at all the people who idea was it to come to the park?*

Please don’t leave go of my hand until we are inside the park!
Don’t run in front of the swings!
Please don’t try to climb up the slide when other kids are coming down it!
No don’t pick up and eat the sand and NO THAT IS NOT YOUR JUICE PUT IT DOWN!
Just let that little brat that just pushed past and is now sitting at the top of the slide screaming kid go first please – no, OK lets not have a meltdown lets go on something else instead!
At this point keeping an eye on littlest means I took my eye of middle and panic ensues only to realise she’s standing behind me and thinks its hilarious to hear me gasping for breath whist simultaneously wondering what the headlines of the papers will read tomorrow!
Lets go feed the ducks! NOooo don’t eat the oats!
Please don’t run straight at them..OH MY Goodness run away from them quick!
No honey those big ones are swans and can run fast too!
Watch you don’t fall in the …..its OK I have towel don’t worry you will dry!

All I can hear is Can we go home yet? Can we go home yet?
No its not coming from the kids – its ME!
Yes we can call to McDonalds but only because they have Adventure Time toys…

and Sainsburys is next door for mummys wine!
Until next time!
XOXO
Debbie

I am not looking forward to this if I ever have kids! It does sound a bit of a nightmare. I don’t know how you manage with two little ones on your hands!
Even when I was a child I never liked going to the park!
