Sweet Treats!
Amelia loves being out and about so I thought as maybe a regular feature I could do a Mondays with Little Miss post, start the week in a good way! I’m not promising every Monday but I think it could be a cute little feature!
Yesterday saw us meeting up with my mum in Durham and since we were there almost 2 hours early we decided to head into doughnut heaven – aka Krispy Kreme. This is the first time Amelia has been inside and awake, usually its our last port of call so she is generally asleep…not this time! We were greeted by a lovely server who we chatted with all the time we were in there, about babies, children, should she have any more (she has 2 and I have 6 what do you think I recommended?!)

Amelia picked a doughnut with sprinkles and even wore one of the funky hats while I snapped away! Her mouth was constantly full so no pretty pictures I’m afraid! I went for the peanut butter filled, peanut fudge topped completely OTT peanut one! My goodness they are delicious and I managed not to drip it down my top this time – BONUS!!

We headed off to meet up with mum and did a little shopping for Mothers Day then decided on the newly opened Pret for lunch. There are SO many cafes and coffee shops in Durham that I did wonder why they would open here but I am so pleased they did! Pret is now my favourite hang out! Its pretty cool inside with lots of students and it has a real ‘trendy’ vibe to it – and that’s before we saw the food! OH EM GEE!
I picked up a kiddies cheese sandwich and orange juice for Amelia, mum chose a baguette and I opted for the Crayfish & Avocado salad. The dressing was the perfect accompaniment just enough in the little pot to cover everything with a glossy, mustard vinaigrette! The crayfish were delicious and the avocado was soft and creamy perfection!
I am starting to get the hang of this dairy free lifestyle too and was so excited to pick up an Almond-shake in banana and cashew flavour! A little like baby food but satisfied my craving for something sweet and knowing it wasn’t going to make me ill was a huge bonus! They made me a soya latte too which I know a lot of the coffee shops in Durham don’t make!
Overall I would highly recommend Pret if you are looking for somewhere to eat and I know we will be calling again soon!
Where is your go to place to eat when out and about?
XOXO
Debbie
