In all of the years I had boys we never once really got into trains so it came as a bit of a surprise when Amelia showed an interested in building her own tracks etc. She loves everything which are stereotypically boy toys but since we are a household where the kids can be what they want I have always encouraged them to play with whatever they like (the boys had pushchairs and ironing boards etc so why not!)
The BRIO Airport with Control Tower was our first experience with Brio at all and I have to say we have been very impressed with the quality and durability of the pieces. The airport comes complete with aeroplane, baggage handler, staff and luggage. There is also a fabulous little light that automatically comes on to guide in the plane.
At the base at rear of the control tower there is a luggage drop off point which makes the suitcase slide down ready for boarding the plane, the girls however love putting the passengers through here (it would certainly make for a more entertaining start to the holiday!)
The whole airport arrives as one piece so no tricky bits to put together, the only thing that needs putting into place is the control tower blue section at the top which easily pops into place.
As we have never been on an aeroplane this has opened up a whole host of questions that we probably would never have gotten around to for a while yet which is the whole purpose of imaginative play. The girls are already planning on what they need to take on a plane and what might be in the airport to see. The fact they can visit lots of imaginary places before we do get away for our first holiday abroad has really brought this play piece to life.
I can see BRIO becoming one of our favourite toy names, Amelia is already asking for more bits for her birthday next month!
Priced at £59.99 and available from BRIO directly.
We were sent the Brio Airport for the purpose of this review, all views and opinions are our own and genuine.
For those who prefer a more traditional home-like experience when on vacation, a timeshare can make sense. If you’ve gotten many years of good use out of your timeshare and now want to get rid of it, a timeshare cancellation company like Timeshare Freedom Group or Lonestar transfer may be able to help.
