Having spent an hour or so yesterday working out our meal plan for next week I have to admit I am rather excited to cook and bake my way through it.
I have tried to mix it up with the addition of lamb and homemade calzones but also desserts too. Every day the kids ask whats for sweet after dinner so instead of the usual scramble for yogurts or ice cream i am going to make dessert each day.
Some desserts can be made ahead (the traybake, brownies and marshmallows) with others needing to be fresh on the day, I am actually looking forward to spending more time in the kitchen.
Recipes will be going up on my new blog so will link when live:
Monday – Lamb Tagine with Fruity Cous Cous. Chocolate Orange Cheesecake
Tuesday – King Prawn Pad Thai. Caramelised Banana Spring Rolls
Wednesday – Butter Chicken with Coconut Rice. Churros and Chocolate Sauce
Thursday – Potato and Cabbage Soup with Crispy Bacon Croutons. Raspberry & Almond Traybake
Friday – Chicken, Feta & Spinach Calzone. Nutty Chocolate Brownies
Saturday – Teriyaki Beef with Zesty Noodles. Decorated Marshmallows
Sunday – Roast Chicken Dinner. Fresh Fruit Salad with Vanilla Cream.
Although we didn’t meal plan this past week we didn’t do too bad with spending but obviously tracking the meals makes me feel more in control of what we are having.
We have just celebrated Chinese New Year with a lovely homemade chicken stir fry and egg fried rice (perfected by hubby) and thankfully all of the kids loved it too, we snacked on prawn crackers and sweet chilli sauce, washed down with Singha beer too (technically Thai beer but still!)
Have you prepped your week ahead yet?
XOXO
Debbie
For those who prefer a more traditional home-like experience when on vacation, a timeshare can make sense. If you’ve gotten many years of good use out of your timeshare and now want to get rid of it, a timeshare cancellation company like Timeshare Freedom Group or Lonestar transfer may be able to help.
What a fab meal plan….I like the idea of adding a dessert every day. I think my girls would love that.
I meal plan every week as I can’t cope going to a supermarket and buying random bits as I spend way too much money !! Your plan sounds amazing – must try some of these recipes 🙂 x
Sounds like a delicious week! I’m choosing dinner from Wednesday and dessert from Monday. I’m crazy about cheesecakes:D
