Girlie Time!
This weekend I had the pleasure of staying at my mums on a girlie weekend with Evie! Yes, just me, mum and Evie on Friday night eating picnic food, watching movies and just talking about anything and everything!
Evie slept in the middle of me and mum and boy does that girl not like her covers on – both me and mum kept having to battle her to keep them pulled up! When she wasn’t kicking the covers off she was making not so girlie smells – I swear that’s what happens when you grow up with 4 big brothers! haha
(…and yes that’s her bed hair!!)
Saturday we were up early and out to pick up Holly, my niece who is now 13 (… where did that time go please?!) Evie decided she wanted to stay with mum so she ended up taking both Evie and Luke (nephew 3) back to hers for the day while I took Holly shopping!
We went to Sunderland with full intentions of picking up some bits she wanted and also a couple that I had on my list (Balmi coconut from River Island and new Balmi from Primark – see a theme there?) Well, off we went and hit TK Maxx first where I got a gorgeous mid size fake succulent pot plant – this will look great as extras in blog pics (oh I had a whole theme going for the day of how I would use the things I picked up!), I also picked up some of the garlic salt flakes and 2 mini pig spatulas which the girls will love to help me bake with!
We took a look in H&M (nothing interesting) before heading round to Lush but on the way we spotted the new Tiger store! I have never been to a Tiger store as they were all predominantly down south, I have however drooled over pictures when friends have uploaded their finds! (A lovely friend, Jen, knows our love of unicorns so bought the girls one a couple of years ago and even made them a unicorn license! They still love it and play with it all the time!) In there we picked up a silver plant tray, girl head planter, tea light holder, liquorice fish and mint stars! (too much cute stuff and I would LOVE to visit one of the larger stores!)
Next…Lush! This is the kind of store you can smell before you see! We walked in and were hit with the scent of bath bombs, massage bars, face creams, lotions and potions of all colours and shapes. I went with a list as I knew what I wanted and that would be one of the delicious looking Unicorn Horns! Oh how I have wanted one of these for the longest time and now I have one I don’t want to use it! haha I also picked up Dragons Egg, Lover Lamp and one of the new Easter Fluffy Eggs in the most startling pink! Cant wait to see how that one turns out! There was so much to look at and I have a list to hopefully get before Easter including a bunch of multicolour carrots and more of the florescent Fluffy Eggs!
River Island had no Balmi and Primark had no Balmi! WAIT, WHAT?!? I know right!! *and breathe*
Primark had the smallest home section I have ever seen so I only picked up 2 small candles, a million black elastic bobbles (£1!) and a lime green hand towel (Lush backdrop – I told you I had it all planned!) I don’t think I have ever spent less than £50 in Primark and I certainly have never come out of there without any clothing purchases but this time nothing grabbed me! Hubby would be proud!
We headed for lunch and thankfully hit Louis Louis at the perfect time – not too busy so paid and went straight upstairs! That concept was new for me – usually you wait until after you have eaten before paying but here you go through the double doors, pay for your meal and drinks (unlimited both for £10!) then head upstairs. We handed in our slip of paper saying we had paid and were shown to a table, napkins, cutlery and glasses were placed in front of us and we were told to go help ourselves! This was heaven for a foodie! There were different sections with signs saying what kind of food they had – sushi, Chinese, Indian, Italian, English, Tapenyaki, Dim Sums, salad bar – it went on and on!! The theory is you just get one of the plates and go back to help yourself as much as you want….we did contemplate prolonging it and staying under the table until tea time rolled round! The food was delicous and there was even a sweet selection too – rocky road, cheese cake, mini pies, jelly, ice cream and a huge stash of Haribo to ‘sprinkle’ on your dessert! Highly recommended and I will go back with hubby and the kids one day as they would have a field day! (sorry no pictures as I was so focused on the food – next time I promise!)
Disney Store was our last call as I had won a gift card last week so I bought the girls new Anna and Elsa dolls – seriously I can’t be doing with all the fights so this couldn’t have come at a better time!
We headed home with our tummies full and collapsed into heaps after a fabulous day out!
We need to do it again soon Holly!
What did you get up to this weekend? Leave me a message and I will pop over to catch up!
XOXO
Debbie
