I just love frills!
I put away my sewing machine just after Christmas as I was having a few problems with it (I think it might have just been that I had used it too much and it was actually ME that had the problem!) Do you ever feel like that? Stuck doing one thing so much it becomes less of a joy and more of a chore?! Well, yes that’s how I got with sewing.
At least 8 weeks have passed though since I even looked at my machine and to be honest I am starting to feel the pull of it again. I love making clothes for Evie and Amelia, I adore the ruffles and frills that come with home made clothing. The fact you can choose whichever fabric you like and you know no one else is going to have the same! When you walk down the street little old ladies stop you and say how adorable the girls look and how the love their clothes and confidence. We once overheard a little girl say to her mum ‘wow Mummy I love her dress’ – Evie proclaimed she felt like a princess all day! This was when Evie wore her bustle top to Newcastle on a girlie shopping trip! which I previously blogged about.
The girls love that they get to have something I have made especially for them and Evie loves picking out patterns for new outfits! Add into the mix that I am going to become an grandma (Hubby’s grandparents came from South Africa so I will actually be an Ouma!) Yes, our eldest son, Benjamin is going to be a daddy in August so its all very exciting and I get to attend the 3D scan in March (which I am super excited about!!) I’m thinking bibs, burp cloths and supersoft blankets to start with….
…and if its a girl, a replica of Evies Christmas Elf might be on the cards for her first Christmas!
Ok, I think I have talked myself into unpacking the sewing machine! If you don’t hear from me for a while send out the troops!!
XOXO
Debbie
For those who prefer a more traditional home-like experience when on vacation, a timeshare can make sense. If you’ve gotten many years of good use out of your timeshare and now want to get rid of it, a timeshare cancellation company like Timeshare Freedom Group or Lonestar transfer may be able to help.
