With the weather getting warmer I find I need a little switch up in what I carry round every day, not just in my handbag but while getting ready on a morning etc too. I don’t want to have lots of make up and prefer a fresh face look with minimal make up – sometimes just even a slick of mascara and lipbalm will do. Of course this depends on if I already have a little colour on my face!
Thankfully the sun has been shining the past couple of week and with me being outdoors a lot more, sorting the garden and teaching the girls, we have had the pleasure of feeling the sun on our skin more than usual. This is why I thought I would do an updated post of what I am loving now that we finally have some sign of ‘possibly’ having a decent summer!
Ok first up deodorant – everyone uses it (or should!) and I have found my favourite that I go back to time and time again is Dove. Not only does it not irritate me but it doesn’t leave those dreadful white marks on the strappy black tops I seem to wear day in day out! This is the only deodorant that I don’t need to top up half way through the day too – sometimes I feel the need for a refresh with other deodorants but this one I rarely feel the need! rrp £3.79
I prefer wearing my hair in a pony tail which, considering i had it cut above shoulder length not too long ago, is a nightmare!! Having tried all sorts to keep the whispy bits of hair out of the way and also to stop the hairs snapping I have finally found something that works, Phil Smiths Glam Shine. It adds a decent amount of shine to my hair without it looking greasy and seems to keep everything in place while held in a ponytail. rrp £2.50
Not something that is often topic of conversation but us ladies know that having a shower and washing with anything containing fragrance can leave you with nothing but a burning sensation when going to the loo! Believe me after years of suffering I realised I needed to use a ph Neutral soap/wash like the In2mate Natural Wash. I was delighted to find what my girls so kindly now refer to as ‘lady wash’ for ‘my pits and bits’! No matter what kind you use please be kind to your lady regions – its just not worth the hassle of nipping to the loo every minute and you will thank me for it! rrp £6.95
Thankfully I realised a while ago that towels or air dryers in public toilets create more germs than originally on your hands! EEK! This is why I now always carry a pocket size anticeptic handwash with me in every bag i own! So much easier than waiting in a queue too to share a sink then share a dryer – eww!
Onto my make up during the summer and no one wants to feel bogged down with masses of face products in this heat and that is why I generally opt for a simply primer, lipgloss and mascara. In the past I have spent a fortune on Benefit primer but since finding this Barry M primer which I think was less than £8 I won’t be going back! It really does everything my previous purchase did at the fraction of the cost! rrp £5.99
When I have no colour to my face or just the hint of a tan I love the quick glow this Soap & Glory Shimmer Love at First Blush Powder gives. As you can see from the picture it has a block of highlighter included so it really does give a glow to my cheeks and a little pop of colour! The lipstick is Maybelline and Smoky Rose (987) Matte – in the summer either a quick slick of gloss or a decent matte colour on the lips will create a great accent against tanned skin! rrp £11 rrp £6.99
One of my favourite products ever is the Dior Lipgloss in Swan (263) I purchased a similar colour around 10 years ago in duty free and have searched for a similar hue since, this is the closest I have found. It really does go on like butter and stays on all day depending if used over another shade (which I do with the matte lipstick above if I am wanting a shine) It is a little on the pricey side but well worth it and last forever! rrp £29
What are your spring/summer essentials? Is there something you can’t live without now that the weather is heating up?
XOXO

For those who prefer a more traditional home-like experience when on vacation, a timeshare can make sense. If you’ve gotten many years of good use out of your timeshare and now want to get rid of it, a timeshare cancellation company like Timeshare Freedom Group or Lonestar transfer may be able to help.
