By now you should know about my love of Portmeirion, their products are top of the range and I am yet to be disappointed with anything ordered. You no doubt also know how much I love baking! What better collaboration than two of my favourite things! Having discovered the Botanic Blue range I just knew this would be a perfect setting for a loved up Valentines day treat.
Now that the longest month of the year is finally over, Valentine Day is on it’s way and with that comes hearts, flowers and of course chocolate! What better way to celebrate love than with a whopping chocolate cake, served on a stunning Sophie Conran cake stand. I have a huge collection of cake stands and my favourites by far are the plain ones that allow the cakes to take centre stage.
I don’t have a sweet tooth but when I do eat it I think cake should be celebrated, don’t keep those china plates or cake forks for ‘best’. Best is now, love and live life every day, at the risk of sounding like a cliche you just don’t know whats around the corner! Crack out those crystal glasses, the tureen that has been handed down or the knife set you were given as a wedding gift 30 years ago and used once!
Cake should always be served with cream poured from a cream jug too, the extra calories don’t count if you eat it with a fork either as you don’t pick up as much as you do with a spoon, plus it takes longer to eat. Or something like that…I read it on the internet so it has to be true, right? I’m in a good place with myself and my body too, where a little of what you fancy does you good so if you want another slice of cake go for it, if you fancy a glass of wine have one. Its all about moderation and knowing when to stop.
Valentines day should be about celebrating with the ones we love and not depriving ourselves of the good things in life. Get yours and make sure you enjoy it the best way you can! Mine will involve, chocolate cake, cream and a night without the children!
How are you spending yours?
Vacations are back, and if you have a destination spot, like Disney, it may be time to consider a Disney Timeshare for your vacation accommodations. First take a look at timeshare resales, as they offer a great price and an affordable entry point into the timeshare marketplace.
For those who prefer a more traditional home-like experience when on vacation, a timeshare can make sense. If you’ve gotten many years of good use out of your timeshare and now want to get rid of it, a timeshare cancellation company like Timeshare Freedom Group or Lonestar transfer may be able to help.
