Gibsons puzzles have collaborated with the extraordinary team behind the Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls novels to produce this inspiring and irresistible puzzle that celebrates queens, activists, scientists, artists and sporting champions throughout history.
We were lucky enough to be chosen to review both the 100 and 500 piece puzzles which are flying off the shelves. As we are avid reader of the Rebel Girls books this opportunity was exciting for both myself and the girls.
Raising girls is tough, we need strong role models and we have from the start bought books and watched movies etc that showcase some of the fabulous females that have changed history.
What we love about the jigsaw is that some of the names are ones that the girls have not read about yet. So as we completed each name on the jigsaw we researched exactly who they were and what impact they had on the world. People do tend to stick to the well known names but there are some amazing women out there who changed history and their names need shouting from the rooftops!
The 500 piece jigsaw was a little too difficult for Amelia as the pieces were smaller than she is use to but she loves sorting the edges from the inner pieces so that’s a job she loves to do.
The 100 piece jigsaw was much larger pieces and great for little hands so she really got into this one and felt as though she was part of the research etc too. She pointed out the ladies and helped to find them on the internet and learn lots of new facts about just how strong and capable girls and women are.
The puzzle pieces are well cut and the picture looks perfect when all put together. We have had puzzles in the past that lose a lot of their pattern due to the cutting process but these pieces are sturdy and well made with zero loss of picture.
A great educational tool and talking point too. Have the internet or the Rebel Girls books ready to research some of the names and build your knowledge of what women have done to change this world!
