Counting down to Christmas is one of our favourite things to do. If you read my blog regularly you will see that we go all out, last year we had a book advent, calendars, elves visiting – lets just say December was pretty busy!
This year I have rounded up some of our favourite advent calendars, the girls have a serious sweet tooth so you can bet that candy is featuring heavy this year. First up is this fabulous house shaped one from Swizzels which contains everything from Refreshers to Parma Violets and Drumstick Lollies. Each door reveals a different favourite from this confectionery King! Available from Sainsburys and Wilkos
Hands off this next one kids, this one is mine, it says so on the bottom! I love the idea of a personalised advent calendar and as this one is filled with Retro Sweets I can see me reminiscing all the way to Christmas day! Why should little ones have all the fun! RRP: £9.99 from Retro Sweets
You know my sentiments by now, you can never have too many candles or smellies around the house and I love this gorgeous, wreath shaped advent calendar filled with 24 Tea Lights. Being a huge Yankee fan means this calender gives me a new scent every day and will keep my home smelling festive all month long. It includes the NEW Icy Blue Spruce and NEW Glittering Star, and 1 Tea Light Holder RRP: £24.99
I was lucky enough to receive not just a Fair Trade advent calendar from Riverford boxes but also 2 meal boxes which contained everything needed for 2 full meals for 2. Riverford provide food direct from the farm to your door, cutting out the middleman and making sure everything is as fresh as the day it was picked. With everything from veg to meat and of course advent calendars I am sure this would take the stress out of December, in fact all year round! Prices vary depending on food choices. Check out the Riverford website for more details on Christmas deliveries.
Next up is one for the pooches so that no one is left out! This fabulous Biscuit Banquet from The Letteroom gives the dogs a biscuit each day in the run up to Christmas. All positioned to create the ultimate doggy decoration – of course this is going to have to go pretty high otherwise I think both Panda and Poppy might try to sneak more than one a day! RRP: £19.95 from The Letteroom
When I was little there were no chocolate filled calendars, we simply loved opening the door on a card calendar which gave us a picture behind. There was usually a story to be told and I adore these throw backs to a bygone era of a more simple time. Its not about having a treat every day, its about remembering what the festive season truly means and you get to help families in the Middle East while doing so. Christmas is about giving back and what better way than to do it throughout the month. RRP: £12.00 from Embraceme
