Now that the days are starting to clear up a little, I am not going to go out on a limb here and say getting warmer because they aren’t! They are most certainly getting drier though and one thing I promised myself this year is that I was going to get out walking more.
The walk into our local village takes 15 minutes and although it is downhill on the way there it is absolute murder coming back… its getting better though the more I do it!
I knew one of the issues I was having was proper footwear and I knew I needed to invest in some decent walking shoes or boots. Cotton Traders asked if we could work together again so I headed straight for the shoe section and picked out a good pair of walking boots.
These fully waterproof boots have a flexible sole and microfleece lining for comfort and warmth. The padded ankle collars provide great support and they are not too heavy either, which is an issue I found with some walking boots. I am not use to anything other than Vans on a daily basis so moving to something more sturdy took a little time to get use to!
I picked a couple of tops to style with jeans or trousers and opted for classic ones that I could wear anywhere. The Cotton Traders Bretton style stripe boat neck 3/4 sleeve shirt is a firm favourite and always looks great with skinny jeans and a jacket. In sizes 8 to 26 this is a top that anyone can look great in! The best part is it is wrinkle free, I try to avoid the ironing pile at the best of times so to find something that says I don’t need to iron is a godsend!
The embroidered top is long enough to cover my bottom, which is always a bonus. We all have those areas we like to hide and at the moment mine is my bum! The embroidery gives a beautiful delicate touch and dresses it up at the same time. Priced at £38 this is a timeless piece that would work well for any occasion.
