We are pretty lucky that the girls love dressing up on occasion, with Evie it is a case of any excuse to dress up and she is a happy bunny…she gets it from her momma! When we recently visited Matfen Hall we knew that dinner would be the ideal opportunity to wear a fancy dress and she couldn’t wait to show off her new shoes too. I think the twirl says it all really!
This dress is from Rocha John Rocha (RJR) in the Debenhams occasion wear range and currently has 50% off so is reduced down to £23.50, the pale mint is such a stunning colour for summer and would make an ideal bridesmaid or party dress. I ordered age 9 and it fits perfectly, the little gold glitter belt keeps the shape of the dress and the ‘flowers’ or little clouds attached to the skirt move so give the dress an element of spring blossom.
Picking up on the floral in the dress we teamed it with RJR. John Rocha Ivory Corsage Strap pumps rrp: £20/£28. The floral strap is fastened with a little gold buckle which highlights the crystals inside each flower. These really are such pretty shoes that would work well for any occasion, as much as I am all for heels on shoes I love that these are flat and think childrens shoes should stay that way. They have enough time when they grow up to be wearing heels!
I have always looked at childrens designer wear with awe and being a little bit of syndicalist I thought it was spending money on labels when not needed. However I am a total convert after seeing the quality and craftsmanship in both the RJR pieces. The likes of Primark have their place in everyday outfits but from now on I think we will be spending a little more time picking pieces that we know will last a while!
XOXO
