Moving home brings with it a whole new set of problems, not only have I gone from a 5 bed house to 3 bedrooms but I have had to source furniture along the way too, with our new home comes lack of storage too! I have so much stuff and no where to put it all, years of accumulating props for blog and book photography alongside all of the usual bits and pieces you pick up along the way (yes I really do need that 3 tier cupcake carrier and wooden serving tray with brass acorn handles!) finding somewhere to store it all has become a bit of a mission!
I have mentioned Bo Concept previously and if you haven’t come across this fabulous store before then you need to check out their new furniture stores in Glasgow and Edinburgh. Denmark’s most global retail furniture chain with more than 250 sales units in 64 countries around the world located in easy to reach central locations.
My living room has a large alcove that although not very deep is rather wide and crying out for storage of some kind, I hate wasted space so found this fabulous Lugano sideboard which could hide a multitude of sins. The white exterior and lack of handles too make it very modern and of course result in taking up (a little) less space which I find appealing!
With the living room sorted its time for me to tackle the mountain of clothes that once resembled a wardrobe! We had fitted wardrobes at the last house so moving to somewhere with nothing at all means needing to sort out storage for everything now packed into suitcases. Since I have painted my bedroom white with a feature wall I am loving the Fermo chest of drawers and with multiple very large drawers this would certainly solve the problems!
Now I can really see the house taking shape, boxes are being emptied, suitcases are back up in the wardrobe instead of spilling my clothes all over the bedroom and moving into the kitchen this is where the real work starts! When you need to take photographs for a whole book you end up with a multitude of items you might never use again, I have dessert forks and spoons in abundance, side plates in every style and colour available and don’t get me started on the napkins and chopping boards!
I have fallen in love with the Cosmo wall system, how fabulous would this look with its open style, housing all of the different colour plates, coloured glasses and display items. Sometimes I look at everything I have and its just too pretty to be hidden out of sight – this way I can have it all on display without looking like an old country cottage!
Its going to take me a little while to make this new house our home but all good things take time. The transition from lots of space to small and cosy is one I am so far enjoying and I am excited to get our new home in order, storage and lack of clutter is the key to keeping it stress free.
XOXO

For those who prefer a more traditional home-like experience when on vacation, a timeshare can make sense. If you’ve gotten many years of good use out of your timeshare and now want to get rid of it, a timeshare cancellation company like Timeshare Freedom Group or Lonestar transfer may be able to help.
