In this short article, we will consider what steps you can take to redecorate and revitalise the appearance of a child’s bedroom.

When it comes to a new bed, you may like to have a bunk bed installed. This is especially true if you have multiple children. A bunk bed can act as an exciting and fun addition to a room for children while also using up less space! You can also save on space by purchasing a bed that comes with drawers built into it.
You could also create a bedroom with more space for your kids by reorganising. For example, toys and objects, particularly those which aren’t used very frequently could be kept at a height. Alternatively, vertical storage can be used to add more space and to store items/toys.
When it comes to the walls, by adding new wallpaper or repainting the room, you can add vibrancy and colour to it, giving the bedroom a new lease of life. It’s ideal to use light colours such as yellow, light, green, aqua, beige or sea blue. How about adding some stickers to the wall? For instance, you could buy stickers of your children’s favourite shows on TV, movies or video games. It’s probably best to consult your kids first to double check that it’s stickers of shows, movies, etc. that they want since children can be a bit fussy sometimes!
When it comes to lighting, there are three types you need to consider. The most important is general lighting. Examples include ceiling-mounted lights and LED downlights. Secondly, you have task lighting such as table lamps and pendant lights and lastly there is accent lighting with wall sconces being a common example.
In addition, for a kid’s bedroom, you might also want to have smart brightness or/and colour adjustable lights added. With these you can set the right levels for any given time of day.
What about the flooring? Popular types of flooring for a room include carpet, laminate and vinyl although carpet is probably the best choice for a child’s bedroom due to its softer underfoot. Ultimately, it arguably suits the environment best.
Before purchasing new flooring you should get a quote from different contractors. This is because, for example, different fitters will provide a different cost of carpet fitting each or a different price if you wanted vinyl or laminate flooring added instead.
