I feel like its been ages since me and little miss had a day out, there has been so much going on that everything seems to have been done in a hurry lately! It was lovely to go out and sit down to chill out for a while!
We headed out to Zizzi’s, somewhere I have been meaning to go for a while as I have heard great things about the food and atmosphere. The fact you get to see the food being cooked in front of you is a huge bonus and shows just how fresh everything really is.
After being seated, Amelia was given the usual pencils and colouring booklet and we checked out the menu.
There was so much choice and it all sounded delicious, one thing nicer than the next! I chose the Calamari starter and Amelia had the cucumber, carrot and mini garlic bread.
My calamari was beautifully cooked, not too crispy and deliciously light. The garlic & basil aioli dip was refreshing and not too heavy which made for a great start to the meal.
Amelias mini garlic bread was perfect for little hands and the addition of the fresh vegetables meant she used my dip probably more than I did!
For mains I opted for the King Prawn Linguine, king prawns & courgette ribbons in a hot roquito chilli, tomato, white wine & lobster sauce. I am not one for spicy food so wasn’t too sure whether to order this but not being a huge fan of pizza and adoring king prawns I took the chance…boy was I glad I did! A slightly hot but moreish sauce coated the linguine, the giant prawns were fit to burst and the courgette ribbons were the perfect crunch addition to an already great meal! Highly recommended and would definitely order again!
Amelias starter was followed by handmade margherita pizza with ham and mushrooms. The children have the option to decorate their own pizzas which I think is fabulous to get the children involved in food based activities!
Having seen the dessert menu online I was determined to squeeze one in and knew what I wanted before we sat down! The white chocolate cheesecake baked with raspberries & pistachio nuts, served with crumbled honeycomb & whipped mascarpone cream was top of my list! It was so worth the calories too, smooth and creamy with little nuggets of pistachio and honeycomb followed by bursts of the slightly bitter raspberries made this enter my top 5 of all time desserts! Well done Zizzi!!
Since Amelia had the childrens menu she got to choose her dessert and opted for the Zizzi Bambini cones, 2 scoops of your favourite ice cream with sugar cones to fill yourself & a bowl of popping candy to decorate.
Having not had popping candy before this was a whole new experience and she loved it!! Seriously I have never heard such loud pops before and she revelled in the giggles that followed!
Overall we would highly recommend Zizzi for family days or nights out. The food is delicious and very fast service too, the staff were super friendly and made sure we had everything we needed, checking back to make sure everything was good with the food and making sure our drinks were filled.
XOXO

For those who prefer a more traditional home-like experience when on vacation, a timeshare can make sense. If you’ve gotten many years of good use out of your timeshare and now want to get rid of it, a timeshare cancellation company like Timeshare Freedom Group or Lonestar transfer may be able to help.
