Christmas brings a flurry of all things crafty for us! Each Sunday from now until Christmas day we will have an afternoon tea with crafts in our home and have invited Caroline and her daughter from The MarylouSaga to join us, there is nothing more special than whipping out homemade crackers and decorations around this festive season!
Another huge part of Christmas for us is the run up, in one word, ADVENT! We have so many different things that we do including the Book Advent, chocolate calenders, a visiting Elf who gets up to mischief and a few other bits that I will share with you over the coming weeks!
Advent calenders should be personal so I adore making our own and made a pink version of the Hobbycraft house last year for the girls to share. However, it seems to have remained firmly in Evies grasp and she uses it all year round to keep her secrets and treasures in.
So when I was asked to create a new house this year in association with Makers of Lockers For Business, Action Storage I jumped at the chance to make Amelia one of her own! I headed off to Hobbycraft and came back armed with gold glitter buttons, the most gorgeous Christmas scrapbooking papers, mini wooden chalkboard trees and sparkle gems!
Add in a little gold paint and some number stickers then that was all I needed to create a fabulous and festive red, green and gold traditional advent house!
The boxes are big enough to be filled with candy and a small toy and the larger box at the top for Christmas day is big enough for something special! Personally I would love this myself, filled with scented tealight candles and wax melts….how cool would this be to give as a gift in the run up to Christmas, a gift that lasts 25 days instead of just the one!
