Having started out my online life as a crafter I find that at this time of year especially, I feel the pull of making and crafting. Christmas cards are so expensive and now you can buy them personalised to everyone including the dog or cat, where does it end and what is the impact on your purse!
I much prefer home made cards and gifts as they really show someone has taken the time to make them for me. Time out of their busy day to make something just for me. It may be something as simple as a stamped image on a card or some elaborately decorated homemade cookies but the sentiment is the same, they thought of me while they were making them.
Stampin’ Up! recently got in touch to see if I would like to work with them on a Christmas card project, all about making your own cards and how easy it is with the right equipment.
I was sent card stock, ink pads, rubber stamps, acrylic block, raised sticky pads, adhesive and a paper trimmer in the hope of creating something I wouldn’t mind giving to others (believe me its been years since I crafted so I was dubious I was going to make something I would like, let alone others!)
Stampin’ Up! is a name that is well known in the crafting world for producing quality items that really do last. Founded in 1988 this is one company that has been around since before I started crafting and will be around long after I quit too. With a regular release of new products there is always something new to find that you simply must have, things that you just know will make your cards stand out from the rest.
Having time to sit and create was such a lovely feeling, it gave back a little bit of me time too and although I was worried I wouldn’t have a clue where to start, it all just came naturally and the products were a breeze to work with.
I was absolutely delighted with how cute these cards look with minimum effort and even if I did look like a complete novice, covered from head to toe in red, green and yellow ink, I thoroughly enjoyed myself and it may have just kick started my love of crafting again.
XOXO
Debbie
I was sent these products for the purpose of a review, all views and opinions are my own and genuine.
For those who prefer a more traditional home-like experience when on vacation, a timeshare can make sense. If you’ve gotten many years of good use out of your timeshare and now want to get rid of it, a timeshare cancellation company like Timeshare Freedom Group or Lonestar transfer may be able to help.
