When it comes to Florida for a family holiday the first name everyone thinks of is Disney. Whether it be visiting one of the parks or spending time in and around the Florida Keys, there is something for everyone and any age.
We have wanted to take the big step of a holiday abroad for a while now, something with that wow factor. I thought it would be a good idea to to jump straight in with our dream of Florida and have been advised it is a magical holiday with or without little ones. With the help of Ocean Florida we are planning our trip for 2020 and since it is just myself and 2 girls I love the thought that everything is taken care of for me.
My first request was that of a resort. I love the idea of a villa if we were going as a large family but since it is just the 3 of us I want the feel of having lots of other families around us. Little ones for the kids to play with, parents and other grown ups to talk to. Some thing different going on and a buzz around the place so we could either head to a disco or show without having to worry about making it back to a villa alone.
Central location is something that is a must as I don’t drive. The resort we have decided on is situated on International Drive which is minutes away from many of Orlando’s biggest attractions, restaurants and venues. This means we can plan different things to do each day without having to travel too far, ie less reason for me to get lost – it does happen more than I care to mention. There is a shuttle service from the hotel resort to the major parks so we should be fine!
We would be staying on a room only basis too. The thought of staying full board may be tempting but I know that we will be out and about most days so wouldn’t manage to take advantage of paying ahead. The delightful thing about the resort we have chosen though is that they have a service at reception that offers sandwiches, juice and pastries etc to take out with us should we decide to venture further afield. We have been told that the parks are quite expensive to dine in so anything to keep the costs down is greatly appreciated. It’s these little details that stand out when paying for a holiday and the fact it can all be pre planned and booked ahead of time takes a little of the stress away.
We are really looking forward to getting away and hope this is the first of many hassle free holidays.
