Sometimes the best investment you can make is what is in your home, someone once said that you should never scrimp on anything that touches the ground so the likes of shoes, sofas, beds etc should be the things you spend a little more money on.
Below I have picked out my top 3 statement pieces from BoConcept, check out their furniture stores in Glasgow for some fabulous home design ideas!
Large pieces of furniture should be the household items that are the most considered, take your time over your decision and pick something that is your style and fits in with your home. The sofa is somewhere you are going to come home to after a busy day at work, you hang your coat up and sink into a sofa to kick back and forget about the stresses of the day. A designer sofa not only looks the part but will have been engineered for maximum design and comfort. I have always wanted a corner sofa and love the whole lounging feel of the elongated sides of certain couches. The Ottowa looks ideal as we only have limited space and this is compact but makes quite a statement with its curves!

Having co slept for the past 21 years with all 6 children until they were around 3 my philosophy for beds is the bigger the better! Either go big or go home – well, imagine coming home to this! The Gent bed not only looks amazingly comfortable but look at that headboard. That is a statement piece and i love that once bedside tables are in place it would look like they were part of the bed, as though they were meant to be there all along! I am also a huge pillow fan so my massive stack of pillows and cushions wouldn’t look like they swamp the bed either – bonus!

The last piece I have chosen is the Ottawa Pouf to match my new sofa (above!), as soon as I saw this piece I fell in love. Bear with me as furniture doesn’t normally speak to me but this made me smile and feel all cosy at once. It reminds me of a pebble. A pebble from the beach, somewhere we often visit with the children, they play at the edge of the water and I stack pebbles, its my quiet time. This pouf reminds me of the waves and the laughter from the children. Statement pieces are meant to do that aren’t they, just like art speaks to people, everyone sees something different and for me this would bring lots of happy memories. Evie says it’s a cheese triangle – as i said – everyone sees something different! lol

XOXO
