Every one dreams of having their own home and for some that becomes a reality sooner than others – my girls are now testament to that!
For a long time they have asked for a wooden playhouse in the garden and to be honest none of us are huge fans of the big plastic ones that they sell in supermarkets etc, we all agreed that if we were going to get one it would be one that was wood and could stand the test of time. British weather isn’t the best and we wanted one that was going to still be standing there when we got up each morning!
After asking around who was the best supplier for childrens playhouses and outdoor equipment we were directed to Big Game Hunters who offered us a discount in exchange for a review of one of their houses. We decided upon the Redwood Mansion as we wanted something that was big enough for both Evie and Amelia to play in, maybe house a little small seating area and just generally be big enough to last a good few years for both of them.
I was way too excited when it arrived and opened all of the packages only to find there were no instructions included – ekk! HOWEVER, being the eager beaver I am I knew I couldn’t wait and set about figuring it all out (much to my neighbours amusement!) I got through to the helpline who were great and told me they would fax over the instructions and apologised profusely saying it was a one off as the instructions were being rewritten, as I am impatient I went ahead and tried to figure it out anyway while waiting and to be honest it was simple! (I later found out the instructions are on the website too – duh!)
There are basically 4 sides, 2 roof pieces and 2 triangle pieces that hold up said roof! The flooring came in 2 sections and was easy to slot into place, the holes are all pre drilled so all you need to do is line up the sides etc and fasten together.
The house comes pre painted around the doors and windows and even has its own little window box ready for planting, the girls want to go and pick their own flowers so we will see how that turns out! The windows all open outwards and are kept closed with little magnetic strips which are already in place when the house arrives.
The house stands at 5ft 10inches so is way taller than even I am and comes complete with letter box and chalkboard sign which the girls love as they have called it Bluebell House – not sure why, maybe it was the blue windows but its a beautiful name and they love it! I have suggested that they could even use it as a shop and write open and closed on the sign, playing markets and selling things through the windows, I use to love role play when I was little and its so cool to watch the girls playing the same as I did with my sisters.
We can’t wait to get it all planted up and customised to how the girls want it and will be sure to come back and give you all an update on how its going!
XOXO
Debbie

For those who prefer a more traditional home-like experience when on vacation, a timeshare can make sense. If you’ve gotten many years of good use out of your timeshare and now want to get rid of it, a timeshare cancellation company like Timeshare Freedom Group or Lonestar transfer may be able to help.
