You know when you sit and think about things, then things turn into bigger things and before you know it you’re penning your sons and daughters messages for the future. .. yeah well.. that!!
Its been one of those days so I feel the need to get a few things written down that will hopefully stay with my little (and not so little) ones.
Number 1 Don’t get into debt.
Seriously this is the biggest piece of advice I can ever give to anyone! Ignore those ‘wohoo here is your first credit card’ or ‘ apply now for interest free until the year dot’ letters and emails. They are nothing but pain and believe me those future years that seem so far away will come round sooner than you think! Owing ANYONE is not good, its soul destroying and you will spend many nights unable to sleep!
Number 2. Go places and do things before settling down!
The only thing I ever think I would have done different before having kids is to go places and do more adventuring! Its not that I can’t do it now, its just that its so damn expensive to even take kids anywhere in the UK let alone venturing round the world showing all those places that look ‘magical’ and promise to fulfill all those childhood dreams.
Number 3. Keep good friends close.
Believe me there will be a time when you realise who your friends are. They are the ones who stick by you through thick and thin and no matter what you have done or do they are the ones there to help pick up the pieces and NOT JUDGE YOU. Real friend don’t judge, they support! Likewise in reverse, be the best friend you can be and they will be with you for life.

Number 4. Don’t go out without sun cream!
Yep by now so you have seen enough of me wearing the most un-flattering shade of lobster so you will know this one! Keep in mind that with the sun comes pain and possibly more serious problems! WEAR CREAM AND HATS AND T- SHIRTS…heck go full on wet suit, just don’t get burnt!!
Number 5. LOVE WITH ALL YOUR HEART!
You have been raised in a house full of kids and full of love. You will have heard me and daddy fight but you know its not forever and you know that’s what adults do – they raise their voices to discuss some things but at the end of the night they kiss and say how much they love each other and all is right again! If you are going to love someone do it with all your heart, give them everything, let them know they are every breath you take and your reason for waking on a morning!
XOXO
Debbie
