One of the good things about scrap booking for so long is that it got me into the habit of doing certain things, taking photographs of every small detail, keeping dates and tracking events etc. One of the projects that has stuck with me is to choose a WORD each year. At the beginning of a new year we would all choose which word would be ‘ours’ for the coming year ahead. In the past I have had ADVENTURE, BEGINNINGS, TIME and BELIEVE among others.
This year I have spent a long time going over a lot of words that I want for the year ahead, there are so many things I would love to do, see and accomplish. My word for 2017 is …
After a lot of thought I really do believe this is the right word for my year ahead, I am going to CHOOSE to make it a great year!
I am not making a resolution to lose weight, however I will CHOOSE what I am going to eat. This way I am not eating for the sake of it and I will be opening my eyes to what goes into my mouth instead of just picking up something because I’m peckish/bored! If I CHOOSE to have chocolate or something laden with calories then I need to own it!
Exercise is not going to be scheduled as it makes me not want to do it – HOWEVER, I will make a CHOICE of either watching a TV programme or getting up and going for a walk etc.
Likewise with me time – I will CHOOSE to spend time surfing the net before bed or having a relaxing bath!
Weekends will be planned out as I make a CHOICE of family over work, during the week is for work and weekends are time off! Whether we make the CHOICE of staying home and playing games or heading out somewhere is something that needs to be decided as we go.
I will CHOOSE whether to be offended by others, or take to heart things that are said OR I will make a CHOICE to understand that that is their thoughts and opinions and that has nothing to do with me or what I do.
The fact I am making CHOICES means that I am taking control of my life and not just blindly going from day to day and plodding along waiting for something to happen or someone else to come along and take control of things for me.
This is MY CHOICE!
Do you have a word for 2017?
For those who prefer a more traditional home-like experience when on vacation, a timeshare can make sense. If you’ve gotten many years of good use out of your timeshare and now want to get rid of it, a timeshare cancellation company like Timeshare Freedom Group or Lonestar transfer may be able to help.
