When I first heard of the Great North Snowdogs I knew exactly what would happen, I have become a little obsessed…OK, a lot obsessed! That’s not a bad thing though and as well as giving you somewhere to link up your Great North Snowdogs blog posts and read about others, I have created a hashtag on Instagram that will gather all the Snowdog pics in one place.
We spent Saturday in Gateshead looking for the Snowdogs that were at the Sage, Quayside, Library, Angel of the North and Washington and found 13 in total! The girls were so excited and it was lovely to see their faces as we rounded each corner and they got their first glimpses of a new ‘woof’ as Amelia kept shouting!
Everyone who links up with either the blog post or Instagram pictures will be entered into a hat to win some Snowdog Goodies! I will pop up a picture of the prizes once they arrive as I have ordered a few bits from different places to make up a couple of little GNSnowdogs goodie bags too! (… the main prize will include one of these adorable huggable Snowdogs so remember to enter, you’ve got to be in it to win it!)
Having been tagged on Twitter in a few snow doggy comps I wanted to share the chance to win some other goodies with the individual dogs too, please can you let me know if you come across any more via social media so I can collate them all together!
DFDS Seaways – Posted on Facebook to say Skipper the DFDS Snowdog has taken his place on the Great North Snowdogs trail and they are loving seeing all of the fabulous photos from people who’ve found him!
In fact, they love them so much they offering a prize for their favourite. Enter and you can win a unique original painting of Skipper’s design from local artist Joanne Wishart – Artist, who painted Skipper!
Just send them your most creative photo with Skipper for a chance to win and they will announce the winner at the end of the trail. There’s only one rule and that is please do not sit on, alter or deface Skipper in any way!

Snowdogs Graffiti Art Competition
Want to win a Graffiti masterclass with Gateshead Library Snowdog artist Frank Styles? In this free workshop you’ll learn the basics of street art and graffiti, how to free hand spray paint and create a big masterpiece using stencils.
All you have to do to be in with a chance of winning is to use the snow dog templates and create your own street art masterpiece; you can draw, paint or digitise your dog but it MUST be your own original design. This competition is open to anyone ages 11-26 and the winners will be picked on October the 7th. The winning workshop will be at 8pm on Friday October the 14th at Gateshead Central Library. We’ll also give Japanese sweet hampers to the winners.

Sunderland Football Club – SAFC’s Wonderhound has been installed at the North East corner of the stadium for the duration of the trail, which runs until the end of November, while SAFC Spraydog can be found near the main reception. And as added attraction, the football club has created its own black cat trail for families to complete.
Black cats will be located around the stadium site and visitors will be able to pick up a map from the Hilton Garden Inn hotel and will be encouraged not only to visit the dogs but also to find all the hidden cats.
Once all the cats have been found, the forms needs to be handed into the hotel reception where youngsters will get a special sticker and families will then be entered into a prize draw for a part-season card for a family of four and a mascot place for one youngster for Sunderland’s match against Liverpool at the Stadium of Light.
The Quay Taphouse, Fish Quay, North Shields – To celebrate St. Oswald’s Great North Snowdogs, The Quay Taphouse will offer 1 FREE JUG OF SANGRIA to anyone who takes a selfie with ‘Skipper’ the North Shields Snowdog, shares the post on our FB page and orders 3 or more tapas….?(*limited to 1 jug per table).
