We love Nick Jr tv channel, it shows some of our favourite programmes and the girls love the Shimmer and Shine series with stories of the troubles 2 genies create with their secret wishes.
The girls were kindly sent one of the new Shimmer and Shine Dress Up Chests to review and they were so excited to get into this treasure box when it arrived! The box itself has a gem shaped catch that locks the box meaning that the treasures are secure inside from little hands (the lock took a little figuring out so Evie was pleased that Amelia couldn’t ‘break in’ when she wanted!)
The dress up chest contained a pair of adorable satin slippers, 2 bangles, 12 interchangable jewels, a genie bottle and 2 hairclips. Evie set straight to work with the spinner on the genie bottle, swapping and switching the jewels on the bangles to correspond to the matching picture on the bottle.
This was such a simple game and the bracelets are really well made with no fastenings that even Amelia could play, it was lovely seeing them sitting together deciding on which gems they would put on their own bracelets. Evie taught Amelia how to spin the dial on the bottle and choose which gem to add to her own bangle too!
Evie adores the slippers and has taken to wearing them all the time! We were a little worried when the box was first opened as they looked tiny but they are actually clipped in places to hold their shape in the box and we needn’t have worried as they fit perfectly! The addition of the picture embellishments on the front just add to the whole magical feel of the box.
