When I first started blogging I never envisaged ever being able to review products or go to the places I have, it was simply an online diary for myself and the children to look back on. Life obviously has its own twists and turns so when I needed a full time job to help me be able to stay home with the children my blog turned into just that – My full time job!
The wonderful thing about blogging is finding new and amazing products and companies that I would never normally have come across. Sacet is one of those companies that I am so glad I found, with an ethical stance against mass production, working conditions and cutting out the middleman this is one jewellery company that I will be using again and again.
I was kindly sent the Rose Gold Lujia Perched Butterfly necklace for the purpose of this review and whilst the necklace is absolutely stunning it is the story behind the company that completely sold them to me.
Included in the box with the order is a card, I figured it was the usual bumf about how the piece was made and what else was available….I was wrong! I was a little taken aback with the details included about my jewellery crafters, Bosir – who sets the stones and Pravin who files the jewellery. It didn’t just tell me what they did to the piece I ordered, it told me about their families and their hobbies, it told me about their dreams and at that point I am not embarrassed to say i did fill up a little!
We all know there are people behind the scenes who do all of the hard work but we never get to see their faces, this time I did and it really hit home how just by making some small changes, ie where you shop, you can actually help others with every single thing you do! To know that I may help Bosir buy his beloved Honda bike or help Pravin become a manager makes searching for companies that have this ethos all the more worthwhile.
We believe that buying designer jewellery should be a truly beautiful experience. One that enables you to revel in looking good, doing good and feeling good. Some called us brave. Some called us naive. Regardless, we set out on our mission: to move the jewellery industry towards a more sustainable approach, focused on three things: People. Planet. Profit. Yes, in that order!
So, not only can i wear a stunning piece of jewellery I also get to know that I am giving back and makes wearing it feel all that more special.
XOXO
Debbie
