When it comes to sleep everyone is different, some people can survive on 4 hours sleep, others need 8. Some need a firm mattress and others require one that they sink into! Bed Guru understand these differences and are sleep specialists who feel it their obligation to ensure that everybody gets a great nights sleep.
With that in mind I thought I would tell you about my sleep schedule (or lack of it since having children) and what I do to ensure I wake up happy.
We start our bedtime routine at 6.30pm when the girls get bathed and I jump in the shower. I think there is nothing much that surpasses that feeling of getting into clean pjs and clean sheets on a night. The kids seem to sleep a lot better once they have been bathed too!

Teeth brushed and loo visit then we all head up to bed at 7.30pm – yes you heard that right! WE ALL head up at 7.30. I have my office in my bedroom so I tend to sit at my desk for the next couple of hours answering emails and writing blog posts while trying to get the children to stay in their own beds! Namely Amelia!

Even though the girls have their own bedroom filled with toys, tv and xbox (I do allow them to watch a movie on a night) Amelia seems to find my room more appealing. I gave in a long time ago with co sleeping so know the inevitable will happen and she will end up in with me.
By 9pm I am ready to call it quits most nights so sign off the PC and climb into bed. At this point Amelia will either already be in my bed or will sense that I am about to get retire and will come through to my room. She is a little worm though and no matter how much space I have she will always be clinging onto me as though we were sleeping on a washing line!

Because of co sleeping I love a big bed and a super soft mattress, there is nothing like falling into bed and feeling the weight of the day disappear into the bed! I really do think one of the best inventions ever is the memory foam mattress, not only are they super comfortable but the anti roll technology means that if I do manage to move away from my little cling on she isn’t going to follow me should i turn onto my side!
During the night I will wake a couple of times, more due to the fact of having Amelia in with me and wondering where she is if shes not attached! Other than that though the fact we do have a memory foam mattress means that sleep is amazing right now, I can definitely say that I am sleeping better than I have before. Meaning of course that when the alarm goes off I don’t always want to leave the bed!
Are you a co sleeper? How do you find your mattress affects your sleep pattern?
XOXO
Debbie

Memory foam mattresses for the win I say…. we all have them, super comfy and definitely helps with sleeping all night!
Your bed looks so cozy and comfy! I never chose to cosleep, but my 5-year old often shows up in the middle of the night – most times he doesn’t even wake me, and I only notice he’s there in the morning!
