We have never been to Saltwell Park before but have heard nothing but good things about it so when the chance to mingle with other North East bloggers came up we jumped at the chance!
Organised by Sam from NorthEastFamilyFun and with the backing of Disney On Ice we arrived to be greeted with goodie bags and delicious looking Frozen cupcakes (the movie not the temperature!) Face painters were on hand but both our girls turned super shy so didn’t get anything done and since we were running pretty late as it was I wasn’t going to try and talk them round. We sat down and the kids dived straight into their goodie bags which contained fabulous Olaf cups, colouring books and pencils, light up yo-yo, bubbles and signed photos from Mickey, Minnie, Anna and Elsa.
The bubbles were of course a huge hit and we kept having to send the kids further away so that they bubbles didn’t land on the picnic foods – sorry peeps if anyone had a soapy lunch!! lol
We sat and ate our prepacked lunch while Amelia was her usual cute self and ran circles round the boys – I really don’t know where her energy comes from! She was up and down towards the lake with Ethan following behind her every step – I’m just glad the lake was well enclosed otherwise I just know she would have taken a dip!! The girls garnered coo’s because of their pretty dresses, we had a birthday party to attend as soon as the picnic was over so to save time they were dressed and ready to go! They don’t always wear party dresses to the park! lol
As always the only way to finish a fabulous day is to create a family pile, I love this photo as it sums up the boisterousness of our girls and love they have for their daddy!
A great day was had by everyone and I am hoping there will be more North East blogger days out as I barely got a chance to speak to people who I have only interacted with online! I did manage to spend some time with the lovely Cat from RockandRollPussyCat and Suz from Sofa Stories as well as Karen from Monkey Feet which was lovely to put faces to names 🙂
