Since becoming a mum even going to the bathroom by myself is a luxury let alone if i ever get a chance to have a laze in the bath without copious amounts of jugs, bottles, toys and potions!
I did however get just that chance the other day as daddy came to visit so mummy sneaked away and locked the bathroom door for a soak – well I got 20 minutes before I was invaded by this little one! Whilst I in there with the candles lit and bubbles to my chin I sank into a dream of what my ultimate bathroom would look like and here is how it goes:
First up is the most important piece of furniture in any bathroom in my opinion, the bath! I spend hours debating what kind of bath I would eventually plump for and top of my list would be a roll top, free standing bath from Big Bathroom Shop but being realistic we are limited on space so i would opt for a bow fronted bath which I think is a pretty darn good looking alternative! It has the ornate frontage of a roll top yet fits to the wall meaning less space taken up than freestanding!
A wooden floor is a must for me! I have had 4 sons and a husband living under one roof until last year and I’m not pointing the finger of blame but lets just say wood floor is so much easier to clean! A nice dark stained oak would be my flooring of choice with fluffy bath mat for stepping straight onto from my gorgeous bath!
The shower would have a waterfall head, I tried one of these in a hotel and honestly, using mine is just not the same – one of the kids might as well be standing there with a watering can! The waterfall showers are sheer luxury and I would forgo a soak in the bath for a shower anytime if we had one of these, especially if I also had some of those great wet wall panels from the Floors To Walls Blog in there too.
Towel storage would be those little cubby holes that you see in gyms etc where the towels are rolled and placed perfectly, no folded mounds that come toppling down when you take one out! Towels that are being used would be hung across a wooden ladder that I would use as a rail.
To save more space I would love one of the back to wall toilet units which incorporates the sink into the top of the cystern unit! How ingeniuos is that – space saving and looks so neat and compact! This would help the girls too as Amelia struggles to reach the sink but this way she can kneel on the toilet to reach!
Of course then there would be the addition of all the usual accessories that I love in a bathroom, fresh flowers, candles and lots and lots of bubble bath!
How does your dream bathroom look? Have you taken the plunge and invested already? I would love to see it!

For those who prefer a more traditional home-like experience when on vacation, a timeshare can make sense. If you’ve gotten many years of good use out of your timeshare and now want to get rid of it, a timeshare cancellation company like Timeshare Freedom Group or Lonestar transfer may be able to help.
