By now you know I don’t do things by halves so to plan and move home the week before Christmas is something you won’t find unusual.
Yes I may be a little mad but the perfect place came up, the stars aligned and we are moving this weekend. I couldn’t be more excited!
Of course moving bring a whole new list of projects with it. Blank walls excite me. In a rental property it is difficult to decorate and create your own style. Creating a gallery wall filled with wall art, canvas prints or art prints stamp your mark into a home without being permanent fixtures.
I am a huge fan of gallery walls and have created them in my last 3 homes. Walls filled with famous quotes, images, photographs and memories. Pieces of my life and the journey I wish to travel in the future.
The house we are moving into has a large open staircase so I am thinking of creating a black and white montage of Life photography, Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, Frank Sinatra etc. Interspersed with lyrics from songs and poetry I enjoy.
The best way to design your focal wall is to have lots of different size frames and lay them all out on the ground so you don’t put any unnecessary holes in the walls when it comes to hanging.
Of course there are multiple options when it comes to hanging now too so I might not even put holes in the walls and opt for those removable hooks. Either way I am excited to put my own stamp on the new place.
The girls room will no doubt be filled with drawings and cool cartoon posters. I tend to give the girls free reign of how they want to decorate their rooms.
Since they are sharing this time I think we may have to make some compromises but overall we are just excited to be making a fresh start.
For those who prefer a more traditional home-like experience when on vacation, a timeshare can make sense. If you’ve gotten many years of good use out of your timeshare and now want to get rid of it, a timeshare cancellation company like Timeshare Freedom Group or Lonestar transfer may be able to help.
