Now that we are almost half way through the year, it doesn’t feel too early to talk about tackling home renovations. As we countdown to summer and all of the prettiness (and hopefully sunshine), that it brings, it can be a good idea to think about any renovation or home improvement projects that you have planned this year. The weather can often be drier, as warmer, so it can be a good time to change the things about your home that you want to. Here are some ideas for you if you’re looking for some inspiration.

Update Your Gutters
The gutters on our home are often neglected, but without them, our homes wouldn’t have their first line of defence against all of the rain and storms that come our way. So the gutters on our home can really take a battering. How long have you had the gutters that you currently have? If it is been a while, or you don’t even know the answer, then upgrading them can be a good idea. If yours are old, cracked, or full of leaves and grime, then they’re not going to be doing their job properly.
Single-Storey Extension
Upgrading your home this year can be a good idea, and even better if it also means extending your home. If you’re looking for some more space, then a single-storey extension, like a conservatory or an orangery (that aren’t technically classed as an extension), can be a great idea.
Whether they are made up of a lot of glass or simply large infinity fixed roof lights like those from TuffX this means that you create a great spot to enjoy the sunshine of spring and summer, as well as give you an extra room in the house. They can add plenty of value to the house too, so you’re able to get your money back if you move on.

Update Your Patio
Spring means some more sunshine and warmer weather. And if past Junes weather is anything to go by, then it could mean you’ll be hosting a BBQ sooner than you think! Which is why having a patio area to enjoy is a good idea. But over winter, your existing one could take some beating with the miserable weather. So you could check for any cracks that need repairing, as well as using something like a pressure washer to get all of the dirt and grime off the slabs. If you don’t yet have a patio, then looking to get one designed could be fun, as well as a decking area if you’d rather. But a place to be outside is great for every home.
Kitchen Cabinets
Spring can bring with it a need to declutter and spring clean. But it can also bring with it the need to brighten and lighten your home. One of the best rooms in the house is the kitchen for this kind of thing. You can start with your kitchen cabinets and go from there. They could just require sanding down and a lick of paint to look good as new.
