A couple of weeks ago I was approached by Forth With Life with regards to doing blood tests to get a write up on how my health was, after feeling really lethargic and down for a while I hoped this might shed some light onto the situation.
I logged onto the website and after answering a few questions you are given the options of kits available, I chose the baseline kit which checks 16 biomarkers and having ordered it in the morning it arrived the following day.

In each kit are instructions, a vial to collect the blood sample, 3 finger pricker/lancets, stickers with my details on to place on the vial and a pre paid medical envelope to return the sample.

Now this is where i should have read it more clearly as i pricked on the edge of my finger pad instead of the side of my fingers and it hurt like hell! It took 2 fingers to fill the vial and they hurt for days after (I could just have a really low pain threshold though lol)

The vial is then sent away for testing and you don’t have to wait long at all as it was the next day that I received my readings through!

All of my biomarkers were within the normal range with only the triglycerides on the high side (this is the fat formed within our bodies and i am going to Slimming World so I am glad I am actually doing something about it already) Normal ranges are less than 2 and mine was 2.4 so a little way to go but great that I found this out and have something to aim for. I would never have known this if it wasn’t for this test as I wouldn’t have even known to ask for such a test at the doctors!
It is recommended you test every 4 months or so and my next one is due in February so it will be good to see if my biomarker for tryglycerides has dropped in that time.
XOXO
Debbie
I was sent the test for the purposes of this review, all views and opinions are my own and genuine.
