Ever get that feeling that all of a sudden the year is going by way too fast and you haven’t done half the things you wanted too?
How is it August already?
I have realised I need to start and write things down, set myself mini goals and generally give myself a kick up the backside if I am to reach any of my goals by the year end! Time keeping is a huge issue as I tend to get sucked into things too easily, my mind does wander and obviously with it being the school holidays the girls are taking priority.
We can sit down to watch a movie and before we know it we are 3 down and looking for a fourth. There is nothing like snuggling on the sofa when its raining outside, munching on popcorn and just chilling. However the hours can just fly past. I have made a conscious effort to try and limit these ‘lazy days’ or if we do seem to be falling into one I know now that I have the cutest time piece to remind me to move!
My new wall clock from Thomas Kent is a statement piece that really does pack a punch. It is also ideal for the girls as they are learning times and Amelia loves to point out the hours and minutes, it not just a fashion piece it is educational too which makes it a huge plus in my home!
The Greenwich Timekeeper 5 is really easy to read and doesn’t tick too loudly either which is a huge bonus as there is nothing worse than trying to concentrate on work with a distraction. I have a feeling that once I get my outdoor covered seating area complete then this might make a great focus point on the main wall, its going to look like a living room but outdoors which is exactly what we are aiming for – bringing the outdoors in and vice versa!
We have had a few days out but there is so much more we want to do so from today I am going to make a concerted effort to pack more into my days without actually wearing us all out. This is where the list and planning comes into play.
I am going to try and combine practical things with adventures etc. If we need to head to the shops we will call and grab an ice cream sundae too or stop by a little cafe to try some home baking.
A trip to the beach has been combined with educational things like hunting for sea glass, finding and identifying beach creatures and then hitting up Asda (over the road from the beach!) for new school uniforms pieces before heading home.
There is so much I want to do around the house, now that I have decided to stay here for a while (we do intend on moving eventually but for now we need to stay put). I want wood flooring downstairs and to change the playroom, the girls only use it as a dumping ground so switching it up into a guest room which could be used as a dressing room means that we can have more room in both our bedrooms as the clothing could be moved.
Having a routine with housework etc would free up more time for work and play too, at the moment I tend to just follow the girls around trying to keep the place tidy…in turn they follow me around trying to leave as much mess as possible so its a never ending circle.
I am looking forward to Autumn though and have already started the TK Maxx stalking for all things pumpkin….there really is nothing like the glow from candles. Especially when you have such beautiful fresh flowers on display….yes I am a lucky girl!

For those who prefer a more traditional home-like experience when on vacation, a timeshare can make sense. If you’ve gotten many years of good use out of your timeshare and now want to get rid of it, a timeshare cancellation company like Timeshare Freedom Group or Lonestar transfer may be able to help.
