By now you will know that I am a huge Cotton Traders fan and I am delighted to be working with them again on a review of a couple of summer pieces.
I find there is nothing quite as classic looking than a white blouse or shirt and a pair of blue jeans! There is just something so timeless and classy about it too. This Broderie blouse is simply stunning and works well with jeans but also left open as a beach cover up for swimwear etc.
Available in 3 colours and from sizes 8 to 26. The broderie is on the front, sleeves and back yoke. The sleeves are elasticated so create a beautiful silhouette of volume. The overall aesthetic is very boho, vintage chic which is all the style at the moment. Hair in a messy updo and some dungarees would take this from a ladies who lunch to artsy student!
Another of my favourite pieces is this stunning Crinkle Tiered Maxi Dress which is available in sizes 10 – 22. They are true to size and I ordered a 16 which fits perfectly. Being only 5.1 I was a little worried it would be too long but it grazes my ankles rather than being 3/4 length so all is good!
There is an elasticated neckline and sleeves which create structure, the elasticated waist gives a flattering fit. I find tiered dresses are very forgiving if you have a tummy or ‘apron’ stomach, which I have. It skims over the important parts and the tiers hide those bits I am a little more self conscious about.
This dress would be beautiful with heels for during a summer day or even with a denim jacket and trainers, dressed down for a picnic in the park etc. I will be getting so much wear out of both these pieces over the coming months, lets just hope the good old British summertime makes a reappearance!
