Everyone loves a Disney Princess, I think my favourite has to be Ariel from The Little Mermaid. We watched this movie over and over again when Evie was little as she adored the story and of course all the singing! Who can deny too about the fight she put up to get what she wanted – I wonder if that is where my girls get their headstrong attitude from. I sure do hope its that kind of thing they take away from Disney movies rather than the thought that a prince needs to come and save the day!
The girls were delighted when we were recently sent some of the new release Disney Princess toys to review including Disney’s Sing & Sparkle Ariel.

Ariel sparkles from tiara to tail. The girls love taking her in the bath with them while they play in the water and I swear they would be mermaids if they could! When you twirl Ariel under the water you can see beautiful glitter floating in her tail and if you press her seashell necklace she will sing for you. Her favourites are “Part of Your World” and “Under the Sea” .

She also speaks phrases from the movie, the girls love having conversations with her as they know what her next quote will be. I can barely get them out of the bath these days! Age 3 and over. 3 AAA Included. SRP: £34.99

Evies favourite by far is the Playdate Rapunzel, inspired by Disney’s Tangled. If you have see the movie or know of the story (who doesn’t!) you will know that Rapunzel has hair that is magic, strong and super long.

This doll does not disappoint! Rapunzel is 32” tall and fully articulated, she is pretty much the perfect height for Evie to have as a playmate. Her dress is just like in the movie and she wears removable shoes and crown, her hair is long enough to be plaited, curled, brushed and dressed with flowers and clips. It did take some detangling after having a run in with Amelia but that is part of the fun – you get to use her very own brush and do it all over again! Suitable for ages 3 and over. SRP £59.99

The third and final part of the Disney Princess package we received was Disney’s Beauty and The Beast, Belle’s Enchanted Kitchen comes direct from the heart of the Beasts kitchen and brings the best of Chip and Mrs. Potts to you. The girls love playing in the kitchen and creating foods and biscuits with me so I thought they would really enjoy this but I think it was a little too young for Evie and Amelia just wasn’t that interested once the initial fascination of the stovetop and cooker wore off. The tea pot makes the stove whistle and the cooking pot makes a cute bubbling noise, the cake, once placed in the oven rises when you close the door. This is a cute piece and I think the younger the better as long as supervised as there are a couple of small pieces. Suitable for children ages 3 and over. SRP £34.99
All of the items are made by Jakks Pacific and available from Smyths, Amazon and all good toy stockists.
