My favourite time of year for shopping is coming up and its not just because of the season of giving. You see I am a sucker for pretty tins…I have been known to buy the most random of things, just because they come in pretty tins.
Don’t even get me started on other kinds of packaging!
I don’t use OXO cubes yet I because they were on sale in the supermarket in a fabulous little OXO shaped tin I had to have them!
Manufacturers know the way to my heart and products that use tin packaging always get it fluttering! Christmas is an idea time for them to get me hook line and sinker with all of the biscuits, sweets and treats that seem to be popping up the cutest metal casings everywhere!
Can you remember being little and going to Nanas/Grannies and getting out the tin of buttons? I don’t know if this is why I love them so much, they bring back great memories and of course there is the fact they last a heck of a lot longer than cardboard boxes. Packaging is such a waste these days that I think finding a keepsake tin is something that pleases the collector, ok hoarder, in me!
It’s not just me though, I asked some of my blogging buddies if they were suckers for packaging too and it looks like I’m in good company…

Yes! Mainly make up, I don’t even try it on or check if the shade would suit me, I purely go by the packaging! Especially Benefit make up, their packaging is unreal. Jo from Miracle Max
Oh yes! I love makeup in shiny small boxes. The special edition sets and lipstick at Xmas for YSL and Dior are so beautiful. Feels so special to use them. Natalie from MumWorthy
Yes. My brother and my father in law are graphic designers. If people didn’t appreciate good branding and packaging their jobs would be limited! Love a fancy tin or box. Alex from Lamb and Bear
