To coincide with the release of the new Dunkirk movie we were kindly sent 4 sets of the new Airfix models. 2 for the little ones and 2 for me – I love this concept as it shows the girls that they can build models too without all of the mess and fiddly bits!
In May 1940, Germany advanced into France, trapping Allied troops on the beaches of Dunkirk. Under air and ground cover from British and French forces, troops were slowly and methodically evacuated from the beach using every serviceable naval and civilian vessel that could be found. At the end of this heroic mission, 330,000 French, British, Belgian and Dutch soldiers were safely evacuated.

The two Quick Build Kits are in the form of click together pieces that require no painting or gluing meaning that they can be built over again and again. Evie built hers up in record time and has developed a love of modelling so has since moved on to actually trying some of the larger Airfix kits. We think the Quick Build kits are a great starting platform for little ones or those less able to manipulate small pieces.

The beginner kits which I completed were a little bit more fiddly but nothing compared to the kits I have seen Stuart build in the past so I think these are a great starting point for those wanting to get into Airfix modelling.

The come complete with Poly cement, small paintbrush and 4 colours, lesson learned though, paint as you go – I left mine until I was part completed and struggled to get to the smaller sections.

We are off this afternoon to see the new movie and will be coming back to complete the rest of the kit!
XOXO
Debbie
