Listen up, there is no excuse for not having a greener home these days. There are countless ways to make your home more eco-friendly, all it takes is the first step. Many people morally support eco-friendly homes but they don’t know how to begin in their own household. We’re going to show you how you could make your home greener with the following techniques.
Switch energy source
Without a doubt, the best thing you can do is turn your nose up at fossil fuel energy sources. Don’t extend your energy contract with a gas or coal power station distributor. Instead, you should go for eco-friendly community solar which has made substantial improvements in distribution. That was the problem with previous generations of solar power, in that, it wasn’t local. This has all been taken care of, as solar power is locally stored and distributed, meaning homes and now apartments can receive fully green power. The solar energy comes from fields and fields of solar panels that have been hosted by local farmers who are not using that land to grow crops. So buying solar energy is going to help local communities and farmers.
e-Energy charger
If you have been thinking about switching to a fully electric car, do it. You can install an electric charger at home and studies have shown, the average electric car that has 300 miles of range, can be filled up to 100% for about $10-15. Compare that to your conventional car and you will find that you save hundreds of dollars a year. Spend that money on something else and go green by fitting an e-charger in your garage. Tesla also does home charger installation, so if you do have a Tesla car, ask them to fit a charger on your property to reap the benefits of cheaper juice for your car. You can also schedule charging at off-peak rates to save even more.
Eat less red meat
Society needs to lower it’s red meat consumption because it’s not as healthy as eating white meat such as chicken or fish. A large amount of cars on the planet cause an abundance of methane gas and this damages the atmosphere almost as badly as commercial air travel. So by your family choosing to eat chicken more than beef, you will be doing your little bit to help the planet. Not to mention, become healthier as beef has a lot more fat than chicken breasts.

More plants
Just by placing more plants in your home can make your home greener by producing more cooler air. Plants take the carbon dioxide out of the air and produce oxygen and it’s the CO2 that traps heat in the home. This means that if you live in a warm climate, more indoor plants means your home will not need to use as much of the air conditioning to stay comfortable.
There are lots of ways you can make your home greener so there’s no excuse for not at least having one of these things in your home. Start by getting more plants and work your way up.
