Since meeting up in September at Blog On the three of us, Kira, Claire and myself, have been trying to organise a day out together. Living at opposite ends of the country proves difficult so when the opportunity arose for us to spend a day together working with Hotels.com and their serviced apartments Manchester we jumped at it!
The train arrived in Manchester at 9am so we wanted to hit the ground running and started off with a full English and gin – coffee wasn’t going to cut it! Over breakfast we sat and planned what we wanted to do during the day, first and foremost was finding some crystal or metaphysical shops if possible.

If you are into crystals, spirituality or simply like cosplay etc then the place to visit is Afflecks. A three story building housing lots of individual stores, all selling everything from wigs and costumes to crystals and incense! Honestly it was like we were called home and spent a good couple of hours and a few pounds in each of the shop!

Unsure where to go for lunch we hit the Arndale centre and headed to the food court, of course we got side tracked on the way and spent well over an hour in Pandora where the lovely Ethan couldn’t do enough to help. Honestly that poor boy earned his wages with all the requests! Who can say no to a Pandora sale!

Back on our trek to the food court….oh look there’s Lush! Yes sidetracked again. This time I was straight in and out with what I wanted and it was Kiras turn to purchase the entire store!

Lunch was finally purchased in the food court at a fab little Chinese food bar that offered a kind of take away pick and mix. Absolutely delicious and we were lucky enough to bag a seat, either get there early or later – hitting the food court spot on lunch time and you risk standing with your food!

Coming out from lunch we spotted TK Maxx and Primark so knew they would be our final destinations. Both huge stores with so much more than both my locals, we were in heaven and could well have spent a good few hours looking around.
This day out was just what I needed and certainly lifted my spirits, seeing the girls and knowing we have each others backs regardless of distance made me appreciate everything a lot more.

Manchester certainly gets a thumbs up from me with regards to a perfect place for a girly shopping weekend. We didn’t get to stay and sample the night life but I have heard excellent things and fingers crossed we will be back soon.
The Spending money was gifted by Hotels.com, but all views are my own.
