London is known all over the world for a variety of different reasons, with a lot of its fame being due to the many cultural attractions that the city contains.

Spending a weekend going to the cinema, going shopping, or going clubbing, is all fine and good every now and then. But sometimes you just need a weekend of cultural attractions to help rejuvenate yourself.
Here are a few cultural options for a day out in London. If you want, you could squeeze them all into a single weekend. Or, you could space them out over multiple trips.
Everyone knows of William Shakespeare and the iconic characters he created, staged, and acted out. Romeo and Juliet are practically mythological figures, and people from around the world, and throughout the ages, have found power, tragedy, and depth in the tales of Hamlet and Macbeth.
Shakespeare was known in his day to haunt the Globe Theatre, and a historically accurate reconstruction of the Globe can be found in contemporary London, as well, right by the bank of the River Thames.
During the warmer months of the year, you can book a space at the Globe, and experience a performance in more or less exactly the same way as the original audience would have done. The most expensive seats are the ones that ye olde lords and ladies would have enjoyed, up in the rafters. The cheaper ones bring you closer to the stage.
Of course, while it can be an incredible experience to watch a play in Shakespeare’s Globe, as pigeons fly in and out through the open roof, London is also home to plenty of more modern theatrical settings in the famous West End. So if theatre is your thing, it may be worth looking for last minute theatre tickets London.
From Shakespeare’s Globe, you can easily jump on a public transport riverboat, and jet down the Thames until you reach Greenwich, site of the famous Greenwich Observatory, the point where Greenwich Mean Time is calculated.
The ride along the Thames is likely to be a breathtaking experience in and of itself – but the Greenwich Observatory is breathtakingly beautiful in its own right, and the Greenwich region is also quite picturesque.
A trip to the Observatory might not be enough for a full day trip, but it will serve as an excellent addition to anything else you might be doing in the city.
The British Museum is one of the oldest and most renowned museums in the world, and features a wealth of historical, cultural, and archaeological relics that carry you into the distant past of the United Kingdom and Europe, and then send you on a whirlwind adventure tour throughout the rest of the world, too.
At the British Museum, you’ll find the famous Rosetta Stone, Anglo-Saxon treasures, relics from the lost civilisations of Central and South America, and much more.
Additionally, temporary exhibitions on a wide variety of topics will pop up from time to time, and keep the overall experience fresh and interesting.
