Newcastles newest bar opened just before Christmas and it promises to be a great night out for all those in need of a little holiday treat! I don’t know about you but I class Sangria as a holiday drink, to find somewhere close to home where I can escape for a little relaxation (…sit back and imagine I’m on a beach!) sounds amazing!
The bar is an addition to the fabulous Tapas Revolution restaurant which is the work of Omar Allibhoy, I was kindly invited along to cook our own meals last year so I knew what a treat we were in store with the opening of the lounge and sangria bar.
Carrying on the holiday feel there is live music on a Friday and Saturday night and the bar stays open after the restaurant closes meaning that you can carry on that weekend feel once the food is finished!
We were treat to a mix of sangrias, gin and tonics and cocktails, one nicer than the next but being partial to a good G&T i know where my heart lies! Tapas Revolution have an exclusive Gin Tonic menu which cover everything from XORIGUER Menorca, Mahón gin served long with Fever-Tree
Indian tonic, homemade lemonade and a lemon and lime garnish to my personal favourite, the PUERTO DE INDÍAS STRAWBERRY Seville Delicate gin made with Andalusian strawberries and served with Fever-Tree elderflower tonic, strawberry and mint! Gins start from £8 too which I think is more than reasonable for a city center bar!
Situated in Eldon Square but accessible from Blackett Street this really is a taste of Spain on our doorstep and I for one could not be happier! From the blue Spanish tiles to the copper accessories, dark lighting and live music it really could be a bar in Madrid which is exactly what they are aiming for – mission accomplished!
Monday to Thursday: 10am – 10pm

We were invited for the launch, all views and opinions are my own and genuine.
