MWAH!!
I thought I would do a soft make up look for Valentines day! Whether you’re staying in or going out this look will get you through the day… and the lippy is a fab one with amazing staying power to keep those lips soft through lots of smooches!
I cleansed, moisturised, lipbalmed etc before popping on Benefit Porefessional which smooths out any imperfections and minimizes the appearance of pores. (Godsend!!) Next up is a foundation I adore, you can’t get it in the UK and I would love for them to bring Kat Von D make up over here but alas until then its only available in Sephora or other make up outlets in America. The Kat Von D Lock it Tattoo foundation is amazing for full coverage! This definitely isn’t a one you can see freckles through or a cream for light coverage, this is the good stuff! haha Applied with the Real Techniques Stippling Brush it goes on like a dream and coveres every imperfection – EVER! . I really cant find fault with either the foundation or the brush (one of my absolute favourite brushes in the range)!
I have been on the look out for a good coverage and light concealer but all the ones I tried were either too orange or had really yellow undertones. I had heard some good things about Miss Sporty and when I saw their concealer was only £2.99 I thought I would give it a go. I’m glad I did! I bought 001 Light and its perfect for under eye and bridge of nose highlights – it covered my dark circles and didn’t turn powdery like a lot of concealers tend to. Well worth checking out the Miss Sporty range and I wont be so quick to walk past the stand next time!
Next up, eyes! A quick push of the eyelash curlers followed by Rimmel 061 Jet Black Kohl Eyeliner pencil in both the lower and upper water lines. The Nude’tude Nude eyeshadow palette from The Balm is A-MAZING! I fell in love with this palette the second I saw it and have used almost every colour in it so far. Such fabulous colours and amazing pigmentation, a little goes a long way! For this look I used Stand-offish all over the lid and Selfish to give a smoky finish. Blended with the Dirty Works eyeshadow brushes. Mascara is The Falsies Push Up Drama from Maybelline and I applied 2 coats. Luckily I have quite long eyelashes anyway so 2 coats was more than enough to eliminate the need for false lashes.
Don’t talk to me about eyebrows!! Mine are both different heights and I really cant wait to get them sorted – goodness only knows how we get round this one and what they will do but if they can level these babies out then I will hand them whatever they like! I did a little re-shaping with Revolutions Focus & Fix eyebrow shaping kit.
Blush is the Soap & Glory Love at First Blush I showed in a post the other day (love this more each time I use it!) Lips are Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet which is completely matte and gives a Kylie-esque look. I popped some Soap & Glory XXL Pillow Plump over the top which gave a shine and helped fill my lips a little.
Hope you like this look and maybe one day I will get up the nerve to actually film a tutorial – even thinking of it makes me feel ill!!
One day… maybe, one day!
What are you doing for Valentines? Any plans or do you have any looks to link up too!?
XOXO
Debbie
