Having visited the last Durham Street Food Project and been impressed we knew we had to head out to this one too!
I subscribed to their Facebook page and soon after the last project they announced a daytime event to be held Sunday 8th may 10 am – 4 pm Perfect! Night time events are basically a logistical nightmare what with hubbys work and kids bedtimes etc so this one we were all looking forward to.
When we turned up, around 12 pm, it was a little busy but nothing too heavy, maybe 5 minutes wait max per stall but by the time we left an hour later it was certainly getting very busy!
Since we opted for the burgers and Hanis kitchen last time we decided to try something new and this is where the Asian Project caught me hook line and sinker! Pad Thai is one of my most favourite food ever (ok … on a list of 1 to 10 it is in the top 5!) I half expected a part baked portion to be served but they made it from scratch, including giant flames that almost burnt the gazebo down – believe me it was worth it! Watching him add all of the fresh ingredients made my mouth water and the finished article was divine and well worth the £5 price tag! (believe me you would have paid 3 times that in a restaurant!)
The kids opted for Stonebaked pizza again and Crepes from La Petite Creperie, one nutella and one salted caramel later they were more than happy and full too!
A huge thumbs up from Amelia!!
