I have never hidden my love of stationery and would go so far as to say I may have a little problem with collecting all things paper and pen! Tomorrow is World Calligraphy Day and the lovely people at Manuscript sent me some goodies with the offer of a giveaway for my readers too – we all know you are secret (or not so secret) stationery hoarders too!

Remember when you were at school and had to learn how to write with a fountain pen (no?! Just us oldies then!) I remember going home with pen stains every day where i had tried to unclog the nibs with my fingers, the school fountain pens were always scratchy on the paper and grabbed little bits of the fibers between the nib – argghh!
Well, Manuscript wanted to change my mind about old school calligraphy and sent me the Modern Calligraphy Set along with the Creative Lettering Colour Set to coincide with a rather special day…

Manuscript Pen Company are delighted to announce the first ever World Calligraphy on 16th August 2017 with events and workshops taking place around the world and predominantly at the Pen Museum, Birmingham.

After a little practice I have decided…I need a lot more practice!
Boy, it might look easy when you see people whipping their pens around the paper on TV or those lettering websites but it really is a lot harder than it looks! It took a lot of attention and concentration to create the look I did and even then that is just the basics!

I love to bullet journal so this will be a great addition to my creative pages and I will most definitely be practicing more and more, the thing with something like this is its meant to be fun and not to get to stressed about it.

What is the point of doing something you don’t enjoy?!
I am so over thinking that way and from here on in I am all about the FUN!
If you are near Birmingham pop into The Pen Museum for lots of family fun – this sounds like my idea of heaven, not so sure about the boys though but i know the girls would love it too!

YES, I CAN REMEMBER USING FOUNTAIN PENS AT SCHOOL BUT NO, I DON’T STILL USE THEM NOW.
