Living in a house of kids we love watching a wide variety of movies and one of our family favourites has to be the epic Lord of The Rings and Hobbit movies centering around the fabulous Middle Earth!
Fans of Middle-earth will have the opportunity to re-live the entire collection of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings films, from Academy Award®-winning filmmaker Peter Jackson1, when the two epic trilogies are released as a single collection on Blu-ray™ and DVD on 31st October from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment (WBHE).
We have watched all of the movies and have to declare that we have quite a few of our favourite epic moments but these are our top 5…
- THE LIGHTING OF THE BEACONS – Seeing the flames sweep across Middle Earth was both heart warming and eerie at the same time.
- THE ASSAULT ON THE HORNBURG – The visual spectacle and sheer amount of attackers was breathtaking and a cinematic masterpiece!
- GOLLUMS FALL – As much as everyone hates the murderous Gollum I couldn’t help but be a little heartbroken when he fell to his death, I think its because he reminds me of Dobby from Harry Potter! lol
- SAM CARRIES FRODO UP MOUNT DOOM – I have to admit I broke my heart at this scene, the sheer determination combined with the apocalyptic surroundings makes for a memorable epic moment.
- ARAGORNS CORONATION – Aragorns journey from ranger to king is one of the crowning moments in Return of the King. “My friends, you bow to no-one.”
