When we were contacted to work with Swizzels we jumped at the chance. The retro sweet company have been a firm family favourite for many years now. From Refreshers to Double Dips and everything in between, including the girls favourites, Love Hearts!
We were sent goodies in one of the fabulous letter box suitable boxes, meaning that even if you’re not at home, you can still take delivery of your favourite candies!
Today has been one of those days where everything has gone so well. From the girls waking up in a good mood to giggling and laughing all the way round our hour long walk. So, when we got home I decided it was a great time to make some Parma Violet and Love Heart cupcakes with the girls!
We used a one of my favourite recipes which is from my own book and we created our very own Swizzels Treats!
Swizzlels Sweet Treat Cupcakes
8oz soft margarine
12oz caster sugar
12oz self raising flour
2tsp baking powder
2 packs of Swizzels Parma Violets
4 extra large eggs
350g icing sugar
175g butter
1tsp vanilla extract
Swizzels sweets for decoration
Place the margarine & caster sugar in a food mixer and blend until smooth.
Add the self-raising flour, crushed Parma Violets, baking powder and eggs and again mix until smooth.
Using an ice cream scoop fill your cupcake/muffin cases and bake at 180 degrees c for approx 20 minutes.
While they cool add the icing sugar and butter to the food mixer and whisk until fluffy.
Using a small ice cream scoop, add some of the icing to the top of each cake and flatten slightly. Decorate with Love Hearts and Parma Violets!
