Yesterday marked 100 years since the fabulous author Roald Dahl was born, after bringing us such classics as Witches, Matilda, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and so many more this is one man who deserves to be celebrated!
From September throughout the country there are lots of events celebrating this milestone so check out if there is anything local for you to take the little ones along to. The Roald Dahl website have a dedicated page detailing all of these events month by month – check them out here.
Our school was a day late and after much deliberation (until 8pm last night!!) Evie was adamant that she wasn’t going to school in fancy dress this morning….of course a last minute change of plan meant that mummy had to come up with something super quick! Thankfully we took inspiration from one of our favourite Roald Dahl movies, Matilda and pulled out the straighteners, red ribbons and a makeshift Lissy Doll and voila…good to go!
I have to admit it is a joy seeing Evie with her hair straightened as its so thick it is always fastened back in a plait or pony tail. We really dont want to be straightening her hair all the time but I think for special occassions the GHDs might be brought out! lol
XOXO
