Oh my word, this week has been a long time coming. Hopefully the start of the last lockdown! I spent Wednesday sitting outside a cafe people watching for the first time in over a year!
One of my favourite things to do is spend time with a coffee, a cake and some fresh air. Nothing says indulgence like sitting doing nothing. Watching people bustle about their day and feeling the sun on my face. I sat outside of a small cafe, a latte and pecan tart and honestly felt like I was alive for the first time in a year. That feeling of doing something we took for granted not so long ago hit me hard.
Now that normality is beginning to return we need to try and show some of the retailers and restaurants, small businesses and sole traders some love. They have had it the hardest this past year and if we want to see them stay on our high streets we need to make the effort to show them how much we appreciate them.
Whether that be by purchasing a take away or sitting and having a coffee. By calling in and showing support, grab those sale bargains early as a lot of places are getting rid of excess stock at the moment. A great way to stock up for Christmas etc.
How about treating someone you love to restaurant gift vouchers. We have all missed the social aspect of being able to sit and talk to others over a glass of wine. Chilling out and having someone else cook for us. Restaurants etc are all going to be opening again soon for indoor seating so get ahead of the game and book early.
Personally I can’t wait to have a 3 course meal I haven’t had to cook myself and don’t get me started on not having to do the dishes afterwards. That alone makes me excited about the prospect of eating out soon. Meeting up with friends is going to be so special, sharing a dinner and wine. It’s amazing how much more this will mean when we finally get to sit at a table opposite someone and just enjoy something we have generally taken for granted.
I am going to spend a little time looking around at some places I would love to visit. In the past I have been known to head to the same restaurants because I like good service. Now though I want to try everything. I think having nothing for so long has given me a lust for something new.
Shops are open at the moment and I am hoping it won’t result in another lockdown. I think we really need to make an effort to stay safe but support our shops as much as possible. Wear masks and partake in social distancing, this is the only way things will return to normal as soon as possible. I had my first vaccination this morning and that little slip of paper gives me hope that things are on their way to getting better.
Vacations are back, and if you have a destination spot, like Disney, it may be time to consider a Disney Timeshare for your vacation accommodations. First take a look at timeshare resales, as they offer a great price and an affordable entry point into the timeshare marketplace.
For those who prefer a more traditional home-like experience when on vacation, a timeshare can make sense. If you’ve gotten many years of good use out of your timeshare and now want to get rid of it, a timeshare cancellation company like Timeshare Freedom Group or Lonestar transfer may be able to help.
