The thing I love about Autumn is that there is a whole new wonderfully colourful world out there to explore, all you need to do is wrap up warm!
We donned our coats and set off in search of pine cones, acorns, pretty leaves and a bunch of sticks to make our own Halloween tree (more on that in another post) It was so much fun watching the girls study the changes in the season and still enjoy being out and about even though it certainly had a chill in the air – it blew away the cobwebs put it that way! They loved climbing felled trees and played games of hide and seek amongst the fallen branches.
No walk is complete without a little picnic and we were well prepared to dine in the great outdoors with a selection of rustic homemade goodies. Of course nothing says picnic like ‘picky food’ and nothing is easier for a picnic than little bits that can just be grabbed with little hands but we had to wait until we got home before the girls could tuck in! The heavens opened so we had to run for cover and head home where the girls were dried off, wrapped in a blanket and tucked into their Little Yeos.
To finish off the girls like something for dessert so instead of sugar filled donuts etc we opted for a healthier option of the Little Yeo Fromage Frais. Yeo Valley makes a range especially for children. We bought a 6 pack of the fruit puree filled yogurt which has no refined sugar so great for little ones.
Filled with British organic milk and with no nasties this gave the girls the boost of energy for crafting and making Halloween goodies once we were home!
Have you been out yet to see the colours changing for the season? What is your favourite part of Autumn?
XOXO
Debbie
