This past week has seen a flurry of Easter activity in this household, especially amongst the girls! The boys, well they did manage to demolish the mini eggs – yes 1 KILO of mini eggs to be precise!
We have painted, made and decorated eggs, made cakes, bunting and started to decorate our Easter tree as well as starting to put together the goody bags. We a firm believers of ‘Easter is more than just chocolate’ so we get the kids a book, something crafty, maybe a new t shirt or pjs and of course there is always the addition of at least a little bit of chocolate – we aren’t that cruel!
I adore the look of concentration on Amelias face here as its the first time she has really tried to make something rather than just messy play and I can’t believe she is 2 next month!
Bath time has been fun too with the addition of some Lush bath bombs, Amelia kept trying to grab hold of it but didn’t like the feel of fizzing in her hands so kept dropping it. Then of course when she did want to hold it it had disappeared so we started all over again – thank goodness I was just breaking off small pieces!
Although Evie hates having her hair brushed, fresh out of the bath brushing is another story now! We found that the Naobay conditioning mask works wonders for her hair and she loves that its now so silky I can pop it up in a scalp plait for her. We have progressed from a plain ‘Elsa plait’ so I am hoping this is a step in the direction of trying some new and funky things with her hair to keep it out of the way!
Other than that not much happened last week, however we are now in the run up to a very busy weekend of Castle Quests at Belsay Castle, Hunting down Lindt bunnies at Alnwick and then over to Northumberlandia Easter Monday Family Day!
Lots of great Easter ideas and activities you’ve got lined up for the kids. Easter for me is generally about resting and taking the much deserved break. This has inspired me to do something with my kids this Easter. Thank you for sharing.
